floe is an illusory space of modulated light patterns, a mental feedback engine stimulated by neuro-resonant optical chaos. The initial experience is a field of visual noise, akin to television static. Fleeting patterns draw attention, but leave the viewer hunting down their own imagined forms—malleable hallucinations. Due to the use of non-standard visual frequencies, the experience cannot be recorded by traditional video cameras. floe was produced with support from Pauline Oliveros during a residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
